Project Addiction

My TV is taking over my life.

Seriously.

Thank GOD I don’t have TiVo or I would honestly *never* leave my apartment!

So what have I been watching, you ask?

I lost my entire Sunday to a Project Runway* Marathon. I’m talking a full-on, 9-hour Marathon, peeps. I sat down at 11am, and didn’t move till 8pm. Paralyzed. Helpless. Addicted.

{{sigh}}

So sad.

On top of that, TCM is running their annual 31 Days of Oscar. 31 days of ONLY Oscar nominated and Award-winning movies, commercial free. I turn that shit on, and it doesn’t matter WHAT is playing, I get sucked in. For hours. Some of the highlights?

I could go on, but I’m tired of finding the links ;)

I.

Can’t.

Stop.

Watching.

Unfortunately, this means I’m also not doing a whole lotta knitting. I can’t Rogue (cables) and watch TV and thrumming only interests me for so long. I HAVE gotten in a bit of knitting though…

1/3 way through Thrum Mitten #2!

What’s that? A Finished Thrummed Mitten?? Although it’s not technically a FO, I can’t show a completed Thrummed Mitten without showing you the inside, so here ya go:

THRUM MONSTER!! GRRRR!!

I’ve also gotten back in my Rogue Saddle! I figure I’ll let the length-challenged sleeve sit for a while and move on to his brother… (If they’re THIS much of a pain in the ass, they HAVE to be boys!)

Sleeve #2 has been started!

New Baby Cables!

I need to start putting in a little more QT with Rogue, as she’s coming along rather s l o w l y. More Rogue, Less TV.

What else have I been up to? Not much, I guess… Well? Uh.. actually, um, this:

hee. :)

In my defense, I’ve had that box at least a week ;) Oh, and that one whole bar of chocolate there? Yeah, it’s half gone now. (thanks again, Silvia!)

Heh. Chocolate gooooooooooooooood.

* how depressed am *I* that, in search of that link you for guys, I accidentally found out that Jay WON Project Runway BEFORE I actually got to go home and WATCH the finale? :( Goddamnit.

If you ever get the chance, watch Portrait of Jennie. It won an Oscar for special effects because they used a greenish color at the end. Great movie!

  2. Lolly Says:

Ha! I watched the WHOLE marathon on Sunday too. I felt like such a lazy ass, but I was sick that day… so, that is what I did. Even though you know who won, it is worth watching. Great collections.

Hey, I just wanted you to know that I was listening to an internet radio station this weekend that doesn’t have DJs on at that time, and I really missed the DJ. Rogue on.

  4. Vicki Says:

Poor thing! I hate when stuff like that is ruined. I’ve never seen Dr. Zhivago, but I remember my mom watching it when I was little and I thought it was the most boring movie EVER. I obviously didn’t have the attention span that I do now. The sleeves are boys, you’re too funny :)

  5. Christina Says:

I always get sucked into those marathons too. They turn me into a complete vegtable. Project Runway is worth seeing even though you know who won. Jay had a lot of interesting knit items!

  6. Rossana Says:

Chocolate and TV sound like good ingredients for a happy night in! I had Thin Mints (oh yes, Girl Scout Cookies are in da house!) in front of the telly this weekend. They were deeee-lish!

  7. Barrie Says:

a)Love your mittens. So super cute.

b)Friend imed me to your site, saying you’d love this chick. I agreed.

c)So happy Jay won! (oops, I hope you saw the finale.)

d)You’re a DJ and you love movies. Oh my god, I want your life and your wicked knitting skills. The most complicated thing I’ve done are fingerless gloves. I must make money to buy the fancy yarn to want to do real perty things.

  8. Stacey Says:

That sucks about you ruining the surprise of the ending. I can’t tell you how many times Randy taped a hockey game to watch it after work and someone would say something to him AT work like, “Hey, too bad the Penguins lost”. I always felt so bad for him…

  9. Silvia Says:

    Awww, they must be boys…hee…

I get sucked in that stupid Idol show…argh…

Casey and I have been watching the 1st season of 24 on dvd… it has taken over our lives! It has been fun but it is a huge time committment. I don’t think we will watch the other seasons because of that.

The rogue is looking gorgeous! I still love that yarn to pieces.

  11. Anne Marie Says:

I could watch Cat on a Hot in Roof for 9 hours. Every time Elizabeth Taylor says, “Big Daddy”, I say, “Big Daddy”. And clearly you are not watching the telly properly if there is ANY chocolate left!

AND Your mitten is just about the coolest ever. I hope you wear it inside out!

  12. Carrie Says:

Hell yeah, Project Runway! I so watched that marathon too. I was rooting for Kara Saun until the very end when I realized that I loved Jay. I’m so glad he won!

Love the Rogue, and Your Thrumness. You’re a knitting machine!

HAha I am the same way about dawsons creek-I have almost all the DVDs and watch for hours while I knit…Cute mittens I love what you did with the thruming!
