Mock Us If You Will…

Earlier in the week, I read Norma’s April 28th Entry.

Go read it.

I will wait.

The woman is spot on. To the outside world, we seem like FREAKS. Seriously.

There have even been times when I’ve seen myself as a freak for this knit blogging thing we do. I mean, come on… we knit, we obsessively take pictures of the knitting and then POST THEM ON THE INTERNET. We have imaginary ‘friends’ we’ve never met who we care about almost as much IF NOT AS MUCH as our flesh-and-blood friends. PEOPLE WE’VE NEVER NECESSARILY ACTUALLY MET.

It’s wierd. For reals. But you know? The thing is, I don’t really give a shit.

The Internets have expanded my love of knitting.

The Internets have given me new outlets of creative expression.

The Internets have given me amazing new friends I would have never found on my own.

The Internets have led me to irreplaceable good times I would have never had.

And now, my loves, as if it couldn’t GET any better (and honestly, I wouldn’t have thought it could), with the indirect help of the Internets, I have found this man.

That’s right ladies, the mystery boyfriend is Anne Marie’s Sexilicious Brother Adam :-P

If I’d never taken up knitting…If I’d never poked around looking for other knitters on the internet…If I’d never thought to put my OWN knitting out there…dude, if I’d never reached out to all the amazing women I’d met through blogging…I never would have met him.

The haters can mock us all they want, yo. It’s aaall good. :)

* contest winner(s) and prizes to come!!! MDS$W!!! WOOO!!!! Can’t wait to see everyone this weekend!!! (and I’m sooo gonna miss the ones who can’t make it :( )

I used to go to SciFi cons because the people there reassured me that I wasn’t as far into left field as I thought I was. Now, if you want really weird, go find any SciFi con.

I’m glad you are a “freaky” knitblogger! Otherwise, I might never have gotten to meet you and then my life would be less happy. Really. Congrats again on Mr. Sexilicious! =)

There really isn’t anything quite as fabulous as knit bloggers. I like to think of a thing like this as fate because really, what else can you call it?
