Look Ma! I’m POSTING!!

Um, so like…

It’s Monday.

Monday after Sheep $ Wool.

The Monday following MDS$W is the saddest (and sleepiest) Monday in the world!!! This is because MDS$W is The MOST! FUN! EVER!

The first year I went, I think I might have emptied my bank account. BAD (yet oh-so gooooood). These days, I go mostly to hang out with my friends. The less money I part with, the better (which is what I went around saying all day Saturday and which I TOTALLY meant, but HOW SAD WAS I Saturday afternoon when I realized I hadn’t bought a SINGLE THING?!!?! True Story!)

Even though I live in Maryland, I always jump in on a hotel room because for me, it’s all about the PARTY!!! knittin’ and drinkin’ and bonding!! :) Here is the Homewood Suites branch of TEAM RAV! (minus Frecklemom and Carrie, who weren’t in the pic for some reason :-\ )

team rav!

Sarah W. didn’t stay with us at the hotel this year, but that’s because she had to attend to the cutest member of MD Team Rav:

It’s Raley!

Two other rockstar members of Team Rav?

Repping Ravery at the Party Saturday night!

Can I just pause here to say what ROCKSTARS Jess and Casey have become! It’s INSANE! Last year at MD, Jess was passing out buttons and trying to convince peeps to sign up for their cute little website. I think there were about 200 members at the time. This year? They were TOTAL CELEBRITIES!

Rav Meetup
Jess and Casey at the Ravelry Meetup on Saturday!

Seriously, I don’t think I say it enough, but I am so proud of you guys!!! YOU ROCK!!! :) Thank you for everything you’ve done for us!!!!!! YAY RAVELRY!

Besides talking about food, playing paparazzi, pimping ravelry and taking pictures of boobies, I also got the spend some time chillin the the grass with these ladies:

Claudia, Carolyn and Silvia
Claudia, Carolyn and Silvia

Normally, I only manage a quick run-in with them in the merch line, but this year we got to chill a little on the hill. It was nice :) I totally wish they had made it to the Rav party, but slackers that they are, they didn’t come :( On the flip side though, Jenna came with Lolly, so YAY!

Sunday, I spent most of my time at the festival trying to make up for the fact that I didn’t buy *anything* on Saturday. I couldn’t go home TOTALLY empty-handed!!! NOT ACCEPTABLE! I managed to aquire a few trinkets:

MDSW 08 stash
Some trekking XXL, cable needles, cute wood buttons, SUPER cute heart-shaped stitch markers, and merino lace-weight from The Sanguine Gryphon

I got asked sooooo many times about the Ravelry tote. They were selling them at the party, but if you didn’t get one, don’t worry. You’ll be able to snag one once the Ravelry store opens (with a TON of other really cute, bank-account draining items YOU MUST HAVE! Seriously. SO CUTE!)

Since I spent my first day hanging out (and making new friends!) and my second day shoppingshoppingshopping, I didn’t really get to check out the animals! I saw some goats here and a few alpacas there, but the only animal pic I got was of this poor guy:

Llama with a bad haircut
Why did they do that to hiiim? Whhhhyyyy?

I just HAD to take a pic of the llama and his bad haircut. Of course, while I was taking the pic, I totally felt the need to sing “Me and my llama” to myself. I really don’t know what that’s about. Maybe Adam *is* right about limiting TV time for kids ;) heh.

I didn’t know you were friends with Jess and Casey before all the craziness of ravelry started. I kinda hesitated asking for a pic with them and telling them how much i love the site because they strike me as hella modest. but they were super nice :-)

and for the record, you put my ass to shame. i went a lil crazy at mdsw. teehee. i kept thinking of layla and luna without a house so that mommy wouldn’t spend all the rent. hahahaha

So, imagine it’s the sad and sleepy Monday after S&W, and yet you still have to work a 14 day at a high-stress meeting. Yuck. I shouldn’t complain though, because that’s what got me to the festival in the first place.

I think those boobs are missing a certain button…
