Toe Up, Grrl.

Common sense would dictate that if you no longer want to be reminded of someone who isn’t a part of your life anymore, you would rid yourself of the things around you that remind you of said person.

You would remove him from your buddy list.

After my last post, I got a lot of encouragement (thanks guys!!!) and advice to delete his name from the list.

This is good logic (we could all use more logic in our lives, don’t you think?) The thing is, everytime I remove his name, I inevitably end up adding it back.

So, to all the lovely comments/emails I received, I politely replied back, “I know, I know, I should… but you see…”

That is, until I got this reply from Silvia:

TAKE IT OFF NOW, don’t make me come out there and give you an ass kicking…I will…I’m the ENFORCER!

Now, I’ve never met Silvia in person, but I’m pretty sure she could kick my ass an’ I don’t wanna mess with that. So Silvia, I DID IT! He’s OFF THE LIST! :) Please don’t hurt me ;)

My weekend was a bit mopey. Saturday afternoon was nice though. My friend Erin had a STITCH n’ BITCH! Erin is the girl I taught how to purl the day my friend Cindy got married! She invited me, Cindy (who I taught how to knit) and Stacie (who she taught to knit on Saturday) for an afternoon of pizza, “Mean Girls”, and knitting! FUN!

While I was there, I started a new pair of socks with my Bittersweet Lorna’s Laces (known from here on out as the Bittersweet socks)!! I do my socks toe-up using the figure-8 cast-on and DAMN if that thing isn’t tricky as ALL HELL! I was cussing and muttering and ripping for a good half-hour or so! The end result, however, is pretty tight!

It’s my third figure-8 toe and it’s lookin’ pretty snazzy!

I also saw Alfie this weekend. I liked it :) I think it was more for the two hours I got to spend with Jude Law than anything else though.

Hmm. What else did I do? Well, not wanting to let Halloween die, I went here…

…but that’s a story for another day ;)

Um, Lara? I am Silvia’s sister. Her big sister. Yet, she can still kick my ass. Plus she still has flight bennys.

    Good move.

hi lara. i read your comment on kerstin’s blog and i think i understand. i’m a bleeding heart liberal and have become more so as i’ve gotten older but i’ve been able to understand why someone would vote the other side. i’ve even voted republican when the democratic candidate just wasn’t up to snuff. but i think what makes me wonder about people who went bush this time around is that he’s lied to us. he’s taken us into a war that we shouldn’t have been in. he’s alienated our allies. and fucked with our enemies (pardon my french). he’s dropped the ball on the economy and other domestic issues. he’s no good. and it’s not a matter of ideology anymore. it’s beyond that. wear your kerry button with pride. because like you, i don’t want someone else assuming that i had any hand in putting this criminal back in the white house.
